Elmer's Restaurant
Looking for your first job? Come work at Elmer's Breakfast - Lunch-Dinner! Many of our current team started their careers at Elmer's in High School and are now Assistant Managers, Kitchen Managers, and General Managers. Must be at least 14 years of age. Currently hiring evening weekend hosts and dishwashers.
What skill swill you learn at Elmer's?
Host - You are the first impression for our guests. Most of our long-term managers started as hosts, so this a great opportunity for advancement.
Dishwasher - You keep the restaurant running by ensuring there are always clean dishes, silverware, and cookware for our guests and our cooks. Most kitchen managers started as dishwashers, then moved up to line cook, then kitchen manager.
Teamwork - almost every job you will ever want involves working on a team. By working in a restaurant, you'll learn the importance of working with others toward a common goal.
Time Management - an exceptional guest experience requires all team members to work in sync and time each step of service perfectly. No experience with this? No problem - we'll teach you!
Working under Pressure - no matter which career you go into, there will be pressure situations. This is true in the restaurant industry as well. Learning how to handle pressure gracefully with a full dining room is a skill you can't even learn in school.
Attention to Detail - whether hosting, serving, dishwashing, or cooking the small details matter.
Problem solving - working in restaurants forces to you think on your feet. Because guests come in all ages and backgrounds, there's never a dull moment.
