Senior Parents - ferpa informaiton
Are you a parent of a Senior who has received a message about completing a FERPA waiver?
WHAT EVEN IS A FERPA?? "Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act"
FERPA is a waiver students complete when requesting their high school to send transcripts and letters of recommendation to colleges on their behalf. Colleges require this during the application process. If you have received an invitation to complete a parent portion of the FERPA in SchooLinks it is because your student is under 18. Follow these directions:

Colleges require this during the application process. If you have received an invitation to complete a parent portion of the FERPA in SchooLinks it is because your student is under 18. Follow these directions:
- When you receive an email instructing you to approve FERPA in SchooLinks, click on the link
- If you have never logged in click "forgot password" to create an account
- Check your email again to reset your password and log in to SchooLinks
- You may see an assigned "to do" in to do section on the top of the page - follow this steps to sign the FERPA
- If you don not see a "to do" - go to to the student section drop down to find consent and forms section to complete FERPA
- You're Done!
